February 3, 1940 – August 7, 2025
Carrol Edwin "Tex" Whitehead of Alexander, Arkansas was born February 3, 1940 in North Little Rock, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2025. Tex spent most of his life in Sheridan, AR with his grandparents, Beulah and Duff Stuckey. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Cecile Whitehead. Tex was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan. Tex served in the Army National Guard for 22 ½ years. He attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He received his Real Estate and Appraiser license and worked as the Grant County Ad Valorem Tax Appraiser. He also ran his own private company, Whitehead Appraisal Service, for 30 years as an independent fee appraiser.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, woodwork, artistry and his family. He had an Appalachian Jumping horse that won first place for 3 years in the state horse show.
Tex died Thursday, August 7, 2025 at his home in Alexander at the age of 85 with his wife by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Kay Goode Whitehead of Alexander; sons, Jonathan (Shelly) Whitehead of Alexander, Jason (Susan) Whitehead of Sheridan; daughters, Jennifer (Mike) Rottinghaus of Greenbrier, Jennifer (Bill)Reynolds of Little Rock, Jamison Ingram of Benton; sister, Irma (Ralph) Rando of Greenbrier; grandchildren, Kennedy, Lillie Claire, Morgan (Lane), Logan, Brady, Sadie Belle, Lauren, Kaitlin and a host of extended family members and friends.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan. Visitation will be from 10:00 until service time also at the funeral home.
