Texie Brewer Harris of Sheridan, Arkansas was born November 8, 1920 at Sheridan, the daughter of the late Joe Harvey Martin Brewer and Carrie Mae Camp Brewer. She was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired business owner.

Mrs. Harris died, Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Sheridan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 88. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dick Harris, and brothers, Bill, Thurman, Coy, Jay and Herbert Brewer.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Harvetta and John Smith of Missouri; Grandson, Randolph Herbert and wife Joanie Freeman of Davenport, Iowa; Grandaughter, Debbie and husband Bill Moore of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma; Great grandchildren, Hailey and Holly Moore; Brother, John Brewer of Fort Smith; Sister, Lexie Skorcz of Sheridan; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ricky Poyner and Bro. Rusty Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday.
Pallbearers will be Jerry McCool, George Brewer, John Brewer, Joe Brewer, Mark Skorcz and Marcus Pollock. Honorary pallbearers will be Harvey Skorcz, Harold Skorcz, Jerry Brewer and Clyde Paulk.
