Vernon Lavelle Bailey of Sheridan was born August 7, 1921 at Tuckerman, Arkansas the son of the late James Henry and Clarkie Carter Bailey . He was retired from Mid South Gas Company as a shop foreman after 32 years of service, a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan and was a Veteran of the Navy having served in World War II.

Mr. Bailey died Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at his home at the age of 84.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 16, 2005 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Ewing, Bro. Ron Ballard and Bro. Jim Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation: 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church New Building Fund.

Pallbearers are John Tolson, Roy Tolson, James Tolson, William Tolson, Randy Irby and Randy Irby, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Elzy Vance, Charles Lunsford and Bill Johnson.
