Vernon Edward Cardin of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 3, 1944 in Manning, Arkansas, the son of the late Cecil Wilson Cardin and Willie Lois Moltz Smith. He was a founder and member of First Southern Baptist Church in Sheridan. He was a 1962 graduate of Grapevine High School. He loved the Lord,and was a Godly servant. He enjoyed fishing with his son, taking care of the church, and loved picking on people.

Mr. Cardin died at his home on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at the age of 78.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, John Smith, sister, Wanda Thomas, nephew David Whitehead, cousin Justin Sullivan.

Survivors: sons, Chris (Brandy) Cardin of Sheridan, Johnny Cardin of Texas; brothers, Bob (Wanda) Cardin of Sheridan; brother-in-law, Robert Thomas of Sheridan; sister, Peggy (Wendall) Johnson of Monticello; 4 granddaughters, Janie, Jennifer, Victoria Cardin and Sumer Travis and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Feral West officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time also on Saturday. Burial will follow at Cedar Branch Cemetery.
