Vernon Crutchfield of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 9, 1939 in Sheridan, the son of the late George and Ella Reaves Crutchfield. He retired from Allied Telephone Company with 40 years of service and was a faithful member of Hope Pentecostal Church in Sheridan for 46 years. He loved his God, his church, and his family.

Mr. Crutchfield died on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab at the age of 75.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale, Wayne, and David Crutchfield, and a sister Mary Lynn Harp.

Survivors: loving wife, Janie Porter Crutchfield of Sheridan; son, Terry Lynn and wife Denise Crutchfield of Springdale; daughter, Teresa and husband Hugh Pruitt of Sheridan; brothers, Bobby Joe Crutchfield of Sheridan, Ray Crutchfield of Oregon; sisters, Dora Lee Freeman of Kansas and Carolyn Ashcraft of Sheridan; 5 grandsons and 3 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Bradshaw and Bro. Carroll Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 until service time.

Pallbearers are Carroll Cotton, Steve Bryant, Harold Taylor, Jim Baker, Ray Dean Shoptaw and Tim Clement.
