Annie Vivian Wilson Shoptaw of Vilonia, Arkansas, formerly of Sheridan, was born July 2, 1914 at the Y Community in Cleveland County, Arkansas. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Conway, and for many years was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan. She had formerly owned and operated Shoptaw Fabrics in North Little Rock. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing and cooking. Her greatest joy was spending time, and making memories with her grandchildren and other family members.
Mrs. Shoptaw died Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Salem Place Nursing and Rehab Center in Greenbrier, at the age of 101.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Shoptaw, her brother, Dougan Wilson; her uncle and aunt who helped raise her and were such a special part of her life, Judge J.W. and Paula Sullivant Lybrand; her cousins, who were more like siblings to her, J. Dee Lybrand, and Lillian Tucker.
Survivors: son, Basil Dee Shoptaw and wife June of North Little Rock; daughter, Anne Lea Shoptaw Clements of Holland; grandchildren, Michael (Melody) Shoptaw, Ashelyn (Peter) Abney, Heather (Jay) Geoghagan; great grandchildren, Scott (Allyson) Shoptaw, Larkin Armstrong, C.J. (Randie) Shoptaw, Issac Fain, Karlie Fain, Adeline Geoghagan, Nathaniel Geoghagan; great great grandchildren, Aleah Shoptaw, Mattis Shoptaw, Charley Shoptaw, Dakotah Armstrong, Gavin Armstrong, Addyson Armstrong; numerous other nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 11, 2015 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Grant Murray officiating. Burial will be in Palestine-Jones Cemetery, near Sheridan. Visitation is also Friday, from 1:00 P.M. until service time.
