Walter Thomas "Tommy" Stevens of Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 11, 1950 in Sparkman, Arkansas, the son of the late Charles Marion and Evelyn Tubberville Stevens. He had served in the Unites States Army and was a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Tommy died Monday, September 1, 2014 at his home at the age of 64.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Thomason, brother, Chester Lee Stevens and 2 great grandchildren, Summer and Harmony Winston.
Survivors: sons, Marion Thomas "Tommy" Stevens and wife Valerie of Grapevine; William Sim Horne, Jr. and wife Shannon of White Hall; daughters, Crystal Kraft Sanchez and husband Robert of Sheridan , Jean Banks and husband Ronnie of Malvern; brother, Charles Glen Stevens of Cabot; sisters, Lynn Anderton, Eve Brooks and husband James all of Sheridan; Sharon Anders and husband Dub of Prattsville, Gail Owens of Prattsville, Mary Cooper and husband Paul of Russellville; best friend, Chyrel Stevens of Rison; 8 grandchildren, Crystal Kelley, Paula Kelley, Marissa Banks, Samantha Kraft, Emily Kraft, Erin Kraft, Nathan Stevens, Dakota Stevens and 5 great grandchildren, Christopher Sanchez, Alfredo Kelley and Emily Kelley and 2 on the way, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Thomason and DeAnna Haas officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
Pallbearers are Ronnie Thomason, Raymond Cooper, Preston Owens, Jay Holmes, Scooter Collums, and Blue Harp. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Stevens, Jr., William Horne, Jr., Robert Sanchez, Jay Burks, Cecil Sullivant and Carroll Shearer.
