Wanda Nell Banks Gilliam of Hensley, Arkansas was born January 17, 1935 at Ennis, Texas, the daughter of the late Bill and Nellie Wilkerson Banks. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her plants. Her favorite role was that of mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Though small in stature, her personality was huge, and she will definitely be missed.


Mrs. Gilliam died Monday, May 23, 2016 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, at the age of 81. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Gilliam, Sr.; grandson, Jessie Gilliam; brothers, Roy Banks, Troy Banks, Billy Banks; sisters, Susie Price, Ruby Webster, Catherine Kines.

Survivors include her sons, Mickey and wife Teresa Gilliam and Rickey Gilliam, all of Hensley; brother, Charles Banks of Bonham, Texas; sister, Bonnie Mathis of Tyler, Texas; 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M.,Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Jerry Kines officiating. Burial will be in Gum Springs Cemetery, near Sheridan. Visitation is also Saturday, from 12:00 P.M. until service time.
