Obituary

Wanda Lee Vann Hoover of the Ico Community, near Sheridan, was born May 31, 1926 at Vilonia, Arkansas, the daughter of the late John Ralph Vann, Sr. and Audrey J. Dodson Vann. She was a longtime member of Orion Baptist Church. She served over 50 years as a Sunday School teacher and over 25 years on the Bulletin Committee, writing, preparing, and mailing them to over 300 people, and 17 years cleaning the church. She was also a retired bookkeeper for Sterling Department Stores.

Mrs. Hoover died Monday, August 13, 2012 at her home at the age of 86. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Owen Hoover, Jr. who died in 1984; a brother, John Ralph Vann, Jr.; and sisters, Geraldine Vann and Waynette Vann Deacon.

Survivors: son, Steven G. Hoover of the Ico Community; granddaughter, Kendyl Nicole Hoover of Cabot; Sisters-in-law, Mary C. Nichols of Fenter, and Jerry Kling of Monticello; brother-in-law, C.E. Deacon of Augusta, Kansas; Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside services will be 11:00.A.M. Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Bethel North Cemetery in the Ico Community, with Bro. Jerry Miller officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.m. at the funeral home.
