"Bill" Clemons
November 7, 1942 – December 3, 2025
William Ray "Bill" Clemons, 83, of Jefferson, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family. He was born November 7, 1942, in Camden, the son of the late Cleary and Mamie Cranford Clemons.
Bill was reared and received his early education in Bearden, graduating from Bearden High School.
Bill proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his service, he worked for Brown & Root, helping build W.A. Parish Power Plant in Thompsons, Texas, and White Bluff Power Plant in Redfield, AR. He later continued his career with AP&L/Entergy as a Journeyman Mechanic until his retirement at age 62.
Outside of work, Bill was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He served as president of the Hopeville Hunting Club for many years and enjoyed gardening and welding—skills that made him the person everyone could count on to fix anything that came his way. Above all, Bill was a devoted family man. He cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren, always eager to teach and pas s on the life lessons that will continue to live through them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia "Pat" Clemons; his sons Spencer (Lynn) Clemons and Lann (LaKressa) Clemons; grandchildren Connor, Reid, Coeli, and Eli Clemons; step-grandchildren Curtley Solomon, Lesley Gray, and Brian Scamardo; and five great- grandchildren. Also, his cousin, Shirley Lamb, who was like his sister, along with numerous extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025, in the chapel at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan, Arkansas, with Tim Ebarb officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in Grapevine Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Memorial Garden
Pallbearers are Connor Clemons, Reid Clemons, Brian Scamardo, Scott Stimson, Tony Fielding and Chip Oldner. Honorary pallbearers are Chuck Drennon, Dennis McFatridge, and Gaylon Presley.
The family will be at the home of Spencer and Lynn Clemons (501 Carter Dr., White Hall )
