Obituary

William Keith "Bill" Johnson of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born November 10, 1929 at San Diego, California, the son of the late Lawrence and Dorothy Belt Johnson. Bill was a proud Patriot, having served in the United States Army, 82 nd Airborne Division. Although born in California, Sheridan, Arkansas was home, and where he grew up. It's also where he met the love of his life, Zetha Arnold, and they were married August 26, 1950, having recently celebrated their 70 th anniversary. His military service took him back to California, and after marriage, Zetha moved there, where they made their home until both of them retired from General Dynamics Corporation in 1986. Their hearts were still in Arkansas, and after retirement, they moved back, and have lived here ever since. Their secret to such a long marriage has always been to put Jesus first, and honor the vows they took all those years ago. Bill and Zetha were not just husband and wife, they were also the very best of friends. They started every day with prayer and Bible study, and genuinely wanted better for the other, than themselves. Bill was known as one of the kindest men in Grant County. He was always cheerful, and up until the very end, had a song in his heart. He was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his wife and friends. Bill and Zetha loved to travel. They visited many states, and God's incredible creation. Their most cherished trip, was going to the Holy Land.

Zetha, and others, would often find Bill singing, "What a Day, That Will Be, When My Jesus I Shall See", and that day came Sunday, October 25, 2020, at Sheridan Rehabilitation Center, when he entered His Savior's presence, at the age of 90. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Puckett, and recently, a sister-in-law, that he was very close to, Marguerite Curley.

Survivors include his wife, and best friend, Zetha Mae Arnold Johnson of Sheridan; sister-in-law, Shirley Tubbs of Plano, Texas. He is also survived by numerous other family members, and those he considered to be his family.
