Obituary

Willis Monroe Stevens, Jr. MD of Grapevine, Arkansas was born June 2, 1933 in El Dorado, Arkansas, the son of the late Willis Monroe Stevens, Sr. and Clara Maebelle Sturdivant Stevens. He was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church in EL Dorado for many
years where he served faithfully as Deacon, Elder, Sunday
School teacher and also served on numerous committees. He
had served in the United States Army having been General
Medical Officer during the Vietnam War and also was an avid
outdoorsman.

Dr. Stevens began his medical career with Family Practice in
El Dorado from 1961-1967.

After his service to his country, he specialized in
Anesthesia. He served as Chief of Anesthesia in El
Dorado from 1971 til his retirement in 1993. He
touched many lives with his compassionate healing art.
Dr. Stevens passed away at his home on Monday, February 23,
2015 at the age of 81.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sara Beth Clement
Stevens of Grapevine; son, Willis Monroe Stevens, III and
wife Randa Stevens of Urbana; daughters, Kirsten Clement of Grapevine, Annalisa Wood and husband Joe of Shannon Hills; sister,
Marilyn Stevens Jones of Jonesboro; 5 grandchildren, Ethan
and Mikah Clement, Noah and Luke Wood, and Henlea Stevens;
and a host of friends and extended family members.

At his request, no flowers please. He asked that
memorials to be made to the Hope Landing in El Dorado or
Vera Loyd Home in Monticello or the Haiti Education Fund
thru First Presbyterian Church in El Dorado.
A time of visitation will be Thursday, February 26 at the
family home in Grapevine,
from 2-4:30pm.
