Winfred Elwin "Winky" Harrington, SFC US Army Retired of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 4, 1924 in Sheridan, Arkansas the son of the late Olen Winfred and Virginia Clark Harrington. He was an active member of Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, had served in the United States Navy and the Army having fought in World War II and had retired from the United States Government.

Mr. Harrington died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at UAMS in Little Rock at the age of 89. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mieko Harrington.

Survivors: Son, Michael A. Harrington and wife Alicia of Maplewood, Minnesota; Brothers, Hosea Harrington, and L.C. Harrington and wife Margaret;
Sister, Elizabeth Baxley all of Sheridan; Grandchildren, Cheryl N.
Harrington, Ariel Harrington and Breanne Ward and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and church family.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 10, 2013 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Click officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
