Zora Jane Dortch Walters of Sheridan, Arkansas, was born October 23, 1923 in the Dogwood Community, near Sheridan, the daughter of the late Joe H. and Georgia Mae Posey Dortch. She was a lifelong member of Moore's Chapel United Methodist Church, where, over the years, she served on numerous committees and also taught Sunday School. She was a 1943 graduate of Sheridan High School and was retired from Rockwell International (now Kohler) in Sheridan, where she worked in the proving room. She enjoyed working in her yard, especially mowing the grass. She received several compliments on her yard. People may not have known the little lady on the mower but they knew her yard. Her chicken and dumplins were always a special request.
