Obituary

Linda Kindy, age 64, of Little Rock, AR won her battle with breast cancer and went to be with the Lord of May 27, 2021.

Linda was born November 15, 1956 on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, to the late David and Wilma Rinehart Halstead. Her family moved to Redfield, Arkansas in 1961, where she attended school, graduating in 1975 from White Hall High School. In July 1976, she married her high school sweetheart, Dale, of Redfield, AR. They made their home in Little Rock and later became the proud parents of their only child, Jodi, of Little Rock.

Linda received her ME in Adult Education in 1983 and Secondary Principal's Certification in 1996. She taught in all areas of adult education before promoting to Assistant Coordinator then Coordinator of the Program. Over her 38–year career with LRSD Adult Education, Linda was very passionate about teaching and empowering every student she encountered, always encouraging them to continuously reach for their goals and dreams.

Linda was a member of East Union Missionary Baptist Church where she attended Bro. Lynn Cole's Life Group and served over the past 34 years in various areas including Fishers of Men visitation program, head of the Sunday School Junior Department, AWANA secretary and pre-school chapel leader.

Linda had a very close relationship with her husband and daughter. She enjoyed spending time with them outdoors and traveling extensively throughout Arkansas and the entire United States. Most recently, she enjoyed loving on her two rescue cats.

Linda is survived by her husband Dale and daughter Jodi of Little Rock; sister Susan (Larry) of Locust Grove, VA; sister Carol (Troy) of Cabot, AR; brother-in-law Nathan Kindy of Little Rock and a host of many other family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to those who cared for Linda including Dr. Lawrence Mendelsohn, the entire staff of CARTI-Little Rock, and the staff of Hospice Home Care, particularly Lindsey and Ms. Shirley.

Visitation will be June 3, 2021 6pm-8pm at East Union Missionary Baptist Church, 20422 N Springlake, Hensley, AR. Funeral service to be held June 4, 2021 at 10:00 am at East Union Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow at Redfield Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Doug Banks, Paul Byrd, Cliff Johnson, Mark Kindy, Greg Rinehart and Marty Turner. Honorary pallbearer is Jeff Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CARTI-LR or East Union Missionary Baptist Church.
